Welcome to life in a junkyard!
Life can be broken, messy, and even painful—but God offers hope and restoration. This June, kids will travel to “Grandpa Rusty’s Junkyard” and learn about God’s plan to take the broken things of this world and make them new.
What to expect:
Redemption Rally (Opening):
An assembly time where all the kids will gather to sing, move, enjoy a daily drama production, and more!
Rotations:
Students will rotate through four stations with their age group.
Bible Exploration
Each day, engaging Bible lessons will be taught from God’s Word, presenting the gospel message and imparting important biblical truths.
Scrapyard Sports
Students will participate in exciting games and sports, designed for their age group, to help connect the lesson through movement and fun.
Rusty’s Diner
Students will enjoy themed snacks that help reinforce the lessons, providing time for conversation and fellowship.
New Creation Crafts
Crafts will be prepared to allow students the opportunity to creatively reinforce the lesson and have a fun project to take home everyday!
Redemption Rally (Closing):
A closing assembly where the kids will sing a final song and recap the day prior to pick-up.
FAQ:

Any child ages four through entering sixth grade! Students are welcome to invite their friends and family!
Is there a cost?
Nope – VBS is completely free!
Where is VBS located?
At Calvary Baptist Church in the lower parking lot by the church garages.
Our address is:
5905 Silas Dent Rd NW
Rochester, MN 55901
How do I get my Dairy Queen Voucher?
DQ Vouchers will be handed out to every child on the first day of VBS.
Can my child attend only some days?
Yes! VBS will be held each evening, June 14th-18th (Sun – Thurs), but your children are welcome any days they can make it.
What time is drop-off and pick-up?
Drop-off begins at 5:45PM. The VBS will begin promptly at 6PM each night. Children will be dismissed at 8PM.
How will pick-up work?
Your child’s safety is a top priority! Approved pick-up persons will sign-out their child at the registration desk. Their child will be brought to them by a volunteer. Students will only be released to adults listed on the approved pick-up form provided at registration. Please bring a valid ID for verification if requested.
What does my child need to wear?
Your child should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as they will spend most of their time outdoors (weather permitting) and will be participating in active games/sports.
What should my child bring?
Children are encouraged to bring their Bibles, if they have one. We will also be raising funds for a missions project, and children can bring money (e.g. spare change) for the offering.
Will snacks/meals be provided? What if my child has food allergies or dietary restrictions?
We will serve a themed snack each evening. If your child has food allergies or a dietary restriction, please let us know on the registration form. We will make accommodations as needed.
Will photos/videos be taken?
We will be taking photos and videos throughout VBS to make a closing presentation and potentially share on CBC’s social media pages/website; however, photo release is requested upon registration, and we will absolutely respect parental preferences and privacy if you choose to opt your child out of photos/videos.
Is there anything offered for parents and caregivers during VBS?
Yes! Calvary Baptist Church will be hosting “Authentic Intelligence: Digital Wisdom for Real Families,” a short series on screens, media, boundaries, and AI in the home. This series will be led by Pastor Greg Linscott from 6:30-7:30 each evening at the church.
